Nordex Group has expanded its Delta4000 onshore wind turbine portfolio with the N193/7.X, a new 7.3 MW-class turbine designed specifically for medium- and low-wind sites. The turbine was introduced on September 22, 2026, with serial production planned for 2029.
The N193/7.X combines a 193-meter rotor with 95-meter single-piece blades. Nordex says the configuration can deliver up to 14% higher energy yield than its N175/6.X model at typical low- to medium-wind locations. The larger rotor is designed to capture more energy where wind speeds are relatively moderate, expanding the potential application of high-capacity onshore turbines beyond stronger-wind locations.
A key feature is the turbine's configurable power range. Rather than being restricted to a single operating configuration, the N193/7.X can be supplied in different nominal capacity versions depending on market and project requirements. In Germany, Nordex will initially offer the turbine with a maximum rating of 6.6 MW to accommodate local permitting and grid connection conditions.
The turbine retains major elements of the established Delta4000 platform, including its nacelle, control system and electrical architecture, while these components have been further optimized for the new application. This approach allows Nordex to use established production, logistics and installation processes rather than introducing an entirely new turbine platform.
The N193/7.X also provides different operating modes that can be adjusted according to project priorities. These settings can be used to balance energy yield, capacity factor, noise requirements and turbine service life, giving developers greater flexibility when designing projects around specific site and regulatory conditions.
Tower technologies and other configuration options will further allow the turbine to be adapted for different markets. The product development follows Nordex's broader Delta4000 strategy of using larger rotors and platform-based technology to improve output at sites where wind resources are less intense. In April 2026, Nordex had also introduced a 7.3 MW power mode for its N175/6.X, which increased annual energy production by up to 1.7% without increasing its sound power level.
The N193/7.X therefore represents a separate step in Nordex's Delta4000 development, combining a larger 193-meter rotor with the 7.3 MW configuration and site-specific operating flexibility. With serial production scheduled for 2029, the turbine is positioned as a future option for developers seeking higher energy production from medium- and low-wind onshore sites.
