Voltide Solutions and JEM Energy have introduced India’s first BESS-as-a-service model for commercial and hospitality applications, enabling battery-based backup power systems to replace diesel generators under an operational expenditure-led approach.

Voltide Solutions and JEM Energy have launched a ‘Made in India’ battery energy storage system (BESS)-as-a-service model targeted at commercial and hospitality spaces in India.

The first deployment has been commissioned at Uru Brewpark in JP Nagar, Bengaluru. The 1.5-acre site has replaced its conventional diesel backup system with a battery-based backup solution implemented under an operational expenditure-led model.

According to the companies, the BESS supplied more than 2.5 MWh of backup energy during its first month of operation, supporting the site through peak summer temperatures, hailstorms, and grid disturbances.

The deployment also reduced diesel consumption by nearly 1,000 litres within the first month. Annual savings from the system are expected to reach up to Rs 625,000.

Voltide Solutions focuses on clean energy deployment through flexible financing and service-based business models, while JEM Energy develops and manufactures battery energy storage systems in India for commercial, industrial, and mobility applications.

JEM Energy’s portfolio includes integrated storage systems comprising battery cells, modules, and containerised energy storage solutions designed for large-scale energy applications.
