PPC Group has agreed to acquire a 277.3 MW portfolio of wind and solar projects in Poland from EDP Renewables Polska Sp. z o.o. and EDP Renewables Polska HoldCo S.A., marking its entry into the Polish renewable energy market.

The acquisition forms part of PPC Group’s 2026–2030 strategic growth plan, which includes a €24 billion investment programme aimed at nearly doubling the company’s installed renewable energy capacity across Central and Southeastern Europe. The portfolio comprises 130.5 MW of operational wind farms, 44.9 MW of operating solar parks, and 101.9 MW of solar projects under development.

The operating wind assets include the Ilza (54 MW), Tomaszow (46.5 MW), and Poturzyn (30 MW) wind farms, while the solar portfolio includes the Pakoslaw (25.1 MW) and Recz (19.8 MW) solar parks. The development pipeline consists of the Ilza CP (50.9 MW) and Tomaszow CP (51.0 MW) cable pooling solar projects, which are expected to become operational in 2029.

The cable pooling projects will share grid connection infrastructure with the existing wind farms, enabling more efficient grid utilisation, reducing connection constraints, and improving the complementary generation profile of wind and solar power.

PPC Group said the acquisition strengthens its regional renewable energy platform, enhances geographical and technological diversification, and reduces operational risk across its generation portfolio. All projects have an estimated operational life of 35 years.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Poland has emerged as one of Europe’s fastest-growing renewable energy markets, with average annual renewable energy growth exceeding 17% between 2016 and 2025. The country aims to generate more than 50% of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2030, supported by recent regulatory reforms, including the introduction of a cable pooling framework.

PPC Group said the acquisition aligns with its broader objective of developing 2.2 GW of renewable energy and storage projects across Poland, Hungary and Slovakia by 2030, further expanding its presence in high-growth clean energy markets.
