The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), in collaboration with the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA), has launched the Wind Turbine Supply Chain Management (WT-MARUT) Portal during the Global Wind Day 2026 National Conference in Goa.
The digital platform is designed to streamline India’s wind energy supply chain by improving component sourcing transparency, facilitating access to domestic suppliers, and enhancing data security. The initiative supports the government’s vision of building a self-reliant renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
Speaking at the event, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi highlighted the sector’s strong growth, noting that India added a record 6.1 GW of wind power capacity during FY 2025–26, representing a 46% year-on-year increase. India’s total installed wind capacity has now crossed 56.1 GW, reinforcing its position as the world’s fourth-largest wind energy market.
The minister also revealed that exports of wind turbines and related components exceeded ₹12,000 crore during the fiscal year, underlining India’s growing role in the global renewable energy supply chain.
