Jupiter International has commissioned a new 1.25 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing unit in Himachal Pradesh, taking its total solar cell production capacity to 3.25 GW and strengthening India's domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.

Jupiter International Limited has commenced commercial production at its new 1.25 GW tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cell manufacturing facility, Unit IV, located at the company’s manufacturing campus in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.

With the commissioning of the new unit, Jupiter International’s total solar cell manufacturing capacity has increased from 2 GW to 3.25 GW, supporting India’s growing domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem and rising demand for high-efficiency solar technologies.

The expansion follows a strategic domestic supply agreement signed in February 2026 between Jupiter International and Vikram Solar Limited. Under the agreement, Vikram Solar will procure up to 2 GW of Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM)-compliant high-efficiency TOPCon and mono passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) solar cells from Jupiter International.

Earlier, in January 2026, the company also received a Letter of Empanelment (LoE) worth Rs 649.5 million from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply of off-grid solar pumps, further strengthening its presence in India’s renewable energy sector.
