SAEL Industries has commenced construction of a 10 GW integrated solar manufacturing hub in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. Backed by an ₹8,200 crore investment, the facility will strengthen India's domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem through integrated solar cell and module production.
SAEL Industries Limited has held the groundbreaking ceremony for its 10 GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, through its wholly owned subsidiary, SAEL Solar P6 Pvt. Ltd. The project will comprise 5 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity and 5 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity.
Spread across 200 acres in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, the facility is backed by an initial investment of ₹8,200 crore. The project is expected to generate around 5,000 direct and 15,000 indirect employment opportunities while manufacturing high-efficiency solar cells and TOPCon modules to strengthen India’s domestic solar supply chain.
The foundation stone was laid by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the presence of Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, Members of Parliament and the Legislative Assembly, senior officials from YEIDA and Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), industry representatives and SAEL’s leadership team.
Speaking at the event, Sukhbir Singh, Co-founder and Director of SAEL Industries Limited, said the project represents an investment in India’s energy self-reliance and reflects Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as one of the country’s fastest-growing manufacturing destinations. He also acknowledged the support of the Uttar Pradesh Government, YEIDA and other stakeholders in enabling the project.
Laxit Awla, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of SAEL Industries Limited, said the Jewar facility will reinforce India’s solar supply chain through integrated cell and module manufacturing while creating long-term economic value for the region. He added that the project reflects the company’s commitment to vertical integration and India’s renewable energy ambitions.
The module manufacturing facility is expected to be commissioned first, potentially during the first half of 2027, followed by the commencement of solar cell production later in the year.
Earlier, in 2025, SAEL had announced plans to invest approximately ₹8,200 crore in establishing the 5 GW solar cell and 5 GW solar module manufacturing facility, which will increase the company’s total solar manufacturing capacity to 8.5 GW.
