GAIL has floated an EPC tender for a 600 MW solar project with a 275 MW/550 MWh battery energy storage system at TUSCO Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh.
GAIL (India) Limited has invited bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), along with operation and maintenance (O&M), of a 600 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project integrated with a 275 MW/550 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at the TUSCO Solar Park in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the tender documents, the selected bidder will be responsible for the complete project lifecycle, including design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, operational trials and guarantee tests for the solar-plus-storage facility.
The scope of work also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the project for a period of five years following commissioning.
Interested bidders must submit their proposals by August 20, 2026, along with an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹260 million.
The project forms part of GAIL’s broader renewable energy expansion strategy. In April 2026, the company approved the development of 700 MW of solar power projects across Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, with a total planned investment of ₹38 billion.
The latest tender reflects the growing adoption of utility-scale solar projects integrated with battery energy storage systems, which are expected to enhance grid stability, improve renewable energy dispatchability and support India’s increasing clean energy capacity.
