BSPGCL has invited bids for a 150 MW solar project integrated with a 75 MW/300 MWh battery energy storage system in Bihar. The project aims to strengthen renewable energy infrastructure and grid reliability through integrated solar-plus-storage deployment.
Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) has invited bids for the development of 150 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity integrated with a 75 MW/300 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Bihar.
The tender has been issued on behalf of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), with South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) and North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) serving as the procuring entities.
Under the tender, the selected developers will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the projects, including land identification and acquisition, obtaining statutory approvals and grid connectivity, developing the transmission network up to the interconnection point, installing transmission equipment, remote terminal units (RTUs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and associated line bays.
The tender also mandates the installation of a minimum 0.5 MW/2 MWh BESS for every 1 MW of solar capacity, ensuring integrated energy storage to enhance grid reliability and renewable energy integration.
Interested bidders must submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹1.424 million per MW, with the bid submission deadline set for August 21, 2026.
Earlier, in January 2026, BSPGCL commissioned the first phase of its 301 MW/495 MWh solar-plus-storage project in Bihar. The initial phase comprised 185 MW of grid-connected solar capacity integrated with a 254 MWh battery energy storage system, representing an investment of ₹18.1 billion.
