Summary

SJVN reported a 52% year-on-year rise in Q1 FY27 revenue to ₹1,394.38 crore, while net profit stood at ₹224.74 crore. The results mark a significant recovery from the March 2026 quarter, when the company reported a net loss due to impairment charges.

State-owned power producer SJVN Ltd. reported a strong revenue performance for the first quarter of FY27, with revenue from operations rising 52% year-on-year to ₹1,394.38 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹917.45 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company’s consolidated net profit stood at ₹224.74 crore, slightly lower than ₹227.58 crore reported in Q1 FY26. However, the result represents a significant recovery from the March 2026 quarter, when SJVN reported a net loss due to impairment charges.

On a sequential basis, revenue declined by around 5% from ₹1,466.47 crore recorded in the previous quarter. Total expenses increased to ₹1,083.58 crore during the reporting period, rising compared with the year-ago quarter but remaining below the level reported in the March 2026 quarter.

The improved quarterly performance follows a year in which SJVN achieved strong revenue growth while facing pressure on profitability from project-related costs and other operational challenges.

SJVN has been expanding beyond its traditional hydropower business into solar, wind, thermal power and transmission infrastructure as part of its long-term growth strategy. The company is currently executing multiple renewable energy and transmission projects across India and neighbouring countries to strengthen its clean energy portfolio.

The company expects operational performance to improve further as recently commissioned renewable energy assets begin contributing to generation and revenue, while upcoming solar projects are expected to support higher plant utilisation and stronger financial performance in the coming quarters.

As India accelerates investments in renewable energy and grid infrastructure, SJVN’s diversified generation portfolio is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting the country’s clean energy expansion and long-term energy transition.
